The Bonnyville Friendship Centre is pleased to announce the launch of a new free childcare program beginning next week. The program, called the Friendship Tribe, is designed to provide parents and guardians with short-term childcare options for children ages two to four.
The Friendship Tribe will run three days a week from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the newly renovated lower level of the Friendship Centre. The space has been fully updated and equipped with books, crafts, toys, climbing structures, and other activities that support early childhood development.
“We are very excited to open this new program,” said Cynthia Gamache, Director of Crisis Supports at the Bonnyville Friendship Centre. “Finding affordable childcare is a challenge in our community, and by offering a free option we hope to support families who need a break, have appointments, or simply require a safe and welcoming space for their children.”
Registration Process
The Friendship Tribe is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parents must complete an initial registration form and can then phone the Centre the morning of the day they wish to bring their child. If spots are available, the child can attend that day.
