Bonnyville, AB – September 30, 2025 – The Bonnyville Friendship Centre is honoured to announce that it has been selected to host the Alberta Native Friendship Centres Association (ANFCA) Annual General Meeting in 2026.
This recognition reflects the Centre’s leadership, community impact, and commitment to reconciliation, cultural programming, youth empowerment, and the advancement of Indigenous rights. These values align closely with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
“We are humbled and proud to welcome our relatives, partners, and leaders to Bonnyville in 2026,” said the Bonnyville Friendship Centre. “This recognition affirms the work we do together to uplift and empower Indigenous peoples in both urban and rural settings.”
The Bonnyville Friendship Centre also extends heartfelt thanks to the ANFCA for this opportunity. Through advocacy, capacity-building, and culturally grounded programming, the ANFCA ensures that Friendship Centres across Alberta have the tools and guidance needed to thrive. Their leadership in promoting reconciliation, youth empowerment, and community wellness is vital to the Friendship Centre Movement.
The 2026 AGM in Bonnyville will bring together leaders and communities from across the province, strengthening connections and building resilient communities rooted in culture, connection, and care.
