We are incredibly proud to congratulate our CEO, Janet Gobert, on her appointment to the Government of Alberta’s FNMI (First Nations, Métis and Inuit) Bursary Committee for a two-year term.

This honour reflects Janet’s lifelong commitment to creating educational pathways, advancing equity and building strong, respectful relationships with Indigenous families and communities. The FNMI Bursary Committee plays an important role in supporting Indigenous learners as they pursue post-secondary education—work that uplifts students, strengthens communities and carries forward the values of learning, culture and opportunity.

Janet’s leadership, compassion and dedication to true collaboration make her an exceptional fit for this role. Her voice at the table will help ensure that Indigenous students receive the support, recognition and opportunities they deserve.

Please join us in celebrating this meaningful achievement. Janet continues to lead with integrity, vision and heart, and we know she will serve this committee with the same commitment she brings to the Friendship Centre each day.

Congratulations, Janet. Your work inspires us and strengthens our community.
