Community Programming
The Bonnyville Friendship Centre is an integral part of our community. You are always welcome to come in and visit; we will provide you with a warm place to rest, a coffee, a daily newspaper and we have a public phone available for local calls.
As a community hub, The Bonnyville Friendship Centre offers a multitude of services to help our community achieve success.
Clothing Depot
The clothing depot provides our clients with free clothing donated from the community. Clothes are free of charge and limited to 1 bag per week. The Clothing depot is open from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, closed between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm for lunch.
Community Kitchen
The Community Kitchen provides a free hot lunch for those who are unable to buy lunch and is open Monday to Thursday from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm.
Referral Services
The Referral Service helps with the completion of government forms. It also refers clients to other organizations to meet their needs, such as educational institutions, educational funding programs, and employment services.
Volunteer Income Tax Program
The Volunteer Income Tax Program is a free program to get your taxes prepared. The program is open to low-income individuals by appointment only.
Benevolent/Emergency Assistance
This service helps families who are facing a family crisis or have suffered a death in the family through acts of kindness such as a donation of food or floral arrangements.
Justice Committee
Working closely with the RCMP, this committee helps the justice system to deal with the culture of offenders from Aboriginal cultures with sensitivity. Working together, we can provide options such as fines or community service hours for offenders. This community should be a safe haven for everyone, and the Justice Committee has committed to ensuring that happens.
Christmas Hampers
Christmas is a time of new beginnings and a time to share. This program is run by the Knights of Columbus with support and assistance from the Bonnyville Friendship Centre. Forms are available for pick up at our office
