Bonnyville Friendship Centre aims to create a healthy, positive, and productive community by working together to empower families and individuals through innovative cultural services. We are committed to your success and are here to help with skills upgrading, job readiness, resume preparation, as well as offering a Volunteer Income Tax Program.
We are there to guide you through the difficult times, or simply lend a helping hand when needed.
The Employment Strategies program is open to all members of our community who are seeking employment, a change in employment, or assistance with employment retention. We can help with resume preparation, phone/email/fax services, and photocopying, as well as running a job book, bulletin board, and regular workshops designed to help you find employment.
Health & Wellness
The Health and Wellness program is provided to all community members through knowledge on healthy living, exercise, and self-management opportunities. We offer Healthy Living Workshops facilitated by Alberta Health Services, which include a Diabetic Workshop and a Healthy Heart Workshop that run roughly 3 hours. Our Healthy Living Workshop is a 6-week program designed to assist you with problem-solving, goal setting, handling pain and fatigue, dealing with difficult emotions, healthy eating and effective communications. These programs are offered in the Spring and the Fall.
Alberta Seniors Benefit Program Support
The program is designed to help Seniors understand what assistance is available to them and to assist them with the paperwork that needs to be filled out. The Alberta Seniors Benefit Program also offers referrals to other vital services.
Women’s Development provides 1-on-1 and group support for Aboriginal women seeking employment and skills upgrading to reduce the barriers they face with employment retention.
Our weight room is available to all members for only $10.00/year. The weight room is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
